4 Reasons Why Christian Women Should Live Confidently
Have you ever struggled with self-doubt? Do you want to live a more confident life? Today’s post which is also the first blog post to be published on the Bible Bliss Boutique website, is all about reasons why Christian women should live confidently. This post is related to our Romans 8: 29-30 T-Shirt design which is available now in the T-Shirt Collection. Read, Relax and Enjoy!
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Romans 8:29-30 (NIV)
Most of us struggle with self-doubt and anxious thoughts.
The more we look at ourselves, the more we feel like we aren't enough, or aren't doing enough. We keep losing confidence and then we feel like giving up.
Maybe you have not had it easy. Maybe life has been trying since childhood. You have encountered one challenge after another, and you are just tired of it all. You have been rejected, mistreated and it feels like you are hanging on by a thread. So you are fearful and keep sabotaging your own success.
Or maybe you seem to have it all. Your friends admire you and wish they had what you have. Other people envy you because you are living their dream life. You have everything you ever wanted in life, but despite it all, you feel empty and are starting to question yourself.
What do you do when you feel incomplete on the inside? When the devil keeps bombarding you with lies like you’re not beautiful, you’re a mistake, a sinner, a failure, nobody likes you, and you can never amount to anything.
Well, you go to the author of life.
See the world offers different solutions, and some of them are good, but the truth is they are only short-term solutions.
Soul searching, writing down goals, traveling and doing the things we love are good practices, but they are also temporary solutions. We need to turn to the word of God because there lies the truth about God and us. Do not buy into the lies of the enemy; you are here for a reason.
Here are four Biblical truths Christian women should know and start living confidently:
You are Chosen or Predestined by God
We all want to feel special and wanted, right?
It is the reason why we get excited when people choose us.
What about the fact that God has chosen us? Shouldn’t we feel blessed and grateful that Almighty God has chosen us to be his children? Not just that, but that he also chose us before the foundation of the world.
Shouldn’t that truly make us more excited?
God was expecting you, even if you were a mistake according to man.
You’re not an accident.
Your heavenly father knows you inside out; he knows your strengths, weaknesses and your end from the beginning. There is nothing you can hide from him.
But, God has given us free will. You get to choose whether you will have a relationship with him or not; he will not force you.
When you feel like giving up, and life does not make sense, go to God. Pour out your heart to him and let him know what you are going through. Do not be afraid to share your fears with God. Yes, he knows all that you are going through, but he needs to know that you trust Him enough to let Him help you.
Allow God to take charge of your life, and you will live confidently. His perfect love for you will cast out fear and doubt.
- You have been Called
You are here for a purpose. Most Christians think only Pastors, bishops or missionaries have a calling on their lives.
All of us cannot be pastors, bishops or missionaries. Your ministry is where God has placed you right now. Whether you are a mother, businesswoman, pastor, teacher, or in any other kind of profession, know that is your calling.
Whatever God has called you to do, do it with all your heart. If you are a stay at home mom, do it as unto God. If you are a businesswoman know that it is God that is calling you into the market place to serve him, your clients and partners. If you have a job, make sure you do it exceptionally well, as unto the Lord. Be excellent where God has placed you.
- You are Justified
The enemy will attack your identity by bringing condemning charges against you. He always reminds us of our past mistakes. When you keep focusing on these mistakes, you end up losing confidence and start living a defeated life.
Another way he does that is by telling you that you are not doing enough. When you pray for 5 minutes, he will tell you that it is not enough. He will remind of your friend who prays for two hours. No matter what you do, it will never be enough as long as you are relying on your strength.
People will also judge you based on what you have done. They will celebrate you when you do right and condemn you when you fail. It is never enough.
Now God, on the other hand, relates to us differently. It is not about what we do but what Jesus has done for us on the cross. When we believe that Jesus died on the cross for us and accept him as our Lord and Savior, so we become justified by faith.
With God it is not about us, but about what Jesus has done on the cross. Our part is to believe and Walk by Faith.
The blood of Jesus has set us free from our sins, and that means that the devil does not have a legal right to remind you about your failures. Learn to stand firm on the word of God. Let the enemy know that you have been set free.
Do not walk around feeling worthless; God bought you at a price. He gave his only son for you, and that means you’re his most prized possession. Counter every bad thought that the enemy puts in your mind with the truth.
Be confident about who you are in Christ because no one can take that from you.
You can reject God, but he won’t reject you when you go to him. When your confidence is in Jesus and not self, you live knowing that it is only His death that justifies you, not yourself, works, or any other person.
- You are Glorified
Imagine having a body that never falls sick or gets old. A glorified body which is not limited by walls like the one Jesus has.
Sounds cool right?
Well, that is how we are going to be when Jesus comes back.
God uses different experiences in life and his word to change us. Right now, God is changing us inwardly into the image of his son Jesus. We need to be willing to go through the sanctification process. God will never leave us alone; he will always be there.
There will be times when we will fail God, but he will never fail us.
Keep your focus on Jesus and stop looking at yourself. Your confidence level will keep building up as you fix your gaze on Jesus. You will also be transformed inwardly.
To live confidently in this fallen world, we need to be heavenly minded. In the Bible, we are told to think about the things that are above. When we set our minds on heavenly things, we become confident even in difficult times. The challenges we face become small in our eyes because God rewards us at the end of it all.
To ingrain these four truths in your heart do this:
- Study the word of God Daily
Spending time in the word will help you to know more about your identity in Christ. You will be able to separate the lies that the devil has been putting in your mind since childhood from the word of God. The more you spend time in the word the more you will be transformed in your mind, and this will also reflect on the outside.
- Praying the Promises of God
The best way to speak the word of God over your life is by praying the promises of God. Get Bible verses about having confidence in God and speak them over your life. Standing on the promises of God is good because God watches over his word he will not let them return to him void.
Journaling will help you to keep track of your thoughts. Keep journaling whether you are happy, sad, fearful or confident. During your Bible study, measure what you wrote against the word of God. Replace wrong thoughts with the word of God.
Changing our minds is something that we will be doing for the rest of our lives, and that means we have to keep building our confidence daily. Do not become comfortable when you get some level of confidence because the devil never stops; the only thing that he does is to change his tactics a little so that he can get you off track.
Remember, to always work on building your confidence. Don’t do it for a short period. Depend on God, pray, read the word of God, confess it loudly and keep standing firmly on it.
